James Williams
Director of Golf
Originally from Shrewsbury in the United Kingdom, the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa Resort Course Director, James Williams, has been a resident of Dubai for the past 21 years. A member of the British Professional Golfers Association for nearly 30 years James gained a wealth of experience and knowledge about the golf industry in this time.
James arrived in Dubai in 1987 after being appointed Head Professional of the first grass course to be built in the Middle East at the world renowned Emirates Golf Club - home of the European Tour Event the Dubai Desert Classic. After 10 successful years at Emirates Golf Club he moved 20 kilometres down the road to open the Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa course at the then named Jebel Ali Hotel.
An enthusiast of the game James has built up a reputation for his teaching skills and his desire to see golfers of all levels enjoy and have fun playing the game. Having competed in tournaments on both the European and Asian Tour James comments:
“I unfortunately realized that I would not make a living playing the game at the highest level but decided to make the next best choice. I am fortunate to have been involved in such a wonderful game all my working life and what more could I ask for than to work at such a lovely Resort as Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa.”
Stuart McMurdo
Golf Operations Manager
Stuart grew up in High Wycombe, United Kingdom, and first started playing Golf at the age of 12 after a short spell in Dubai. He continued to play on his return to the UK through higher education as a scratch player where he attained a degree in Business at Brunel University in Buckinghamshire.
After a year off to play full time he realized a life playing Golf would be unsustainable. Stuart took a job in the city for a number of years however he missed the game so much he applied his current role at Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa where he combines his education with his passion for the game.
In 2006 he fulfilled a dream by qualifying for the Dubai Desert Classic on the European tour. Stuart has now been at the Resort for 6 years and is proud to be associated with this world-class 9 Hole golf course.
Mark Bull
Assistant Golf Operations Manager
Left hander Mark has been playing Golf since the age of 9 and quickly became a low handicap golfer as a member of Marlborough Golf Club in Swindon UK .
After graduating in Sports Management from the University College of Birmingham he moved to Dubai in May 2007 and joined Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa fulfilling his ambition to forge a career in the Golf Industry. A popular figure and an integral part of the outside operations team at the Resort Course Mark was accepted to train to become a member of the British Professional Golfers Association in early 2008.
Stuart Fee
Golf Professional and Head Teaching Professional
Stuart Fee the Resort Course’s Head Teaching Professional and member of the British Professional Golfers Association manages the highly successful Golf Academy catering for both our hotel guests and local residents. Stuart started playing Golf at 15 years of age at Sundridge Park in South London where he quickly decided that Golf would be his life. He qualified as an AA standard PGA professional in 2002 and has never looked back.
Stuart spent many years teaching in the UK and arrived in Dubai at Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa in 2004. Always eager to improve his qualifications and experience he took a year out in 2007 to learn new techniques from some of the world’s most successful teachers of the game before returning to Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa in early 2008. An accomplished player in his own right he has been successful on the UAE PGA circuit recording numerous victories and has also represented the UAE at the European Club Professionals Team Championship.
