Centre of Excellence
The Jebel Ali International Centre of
Excellence comprises a Sports Academy and Leadership Centre which
provides training and development facilities and activities for
sports clubs, schools, youth clubs and corporate businesses from
across the globe. The facility is located within the 168 acre
grounds of the Jebel Ali International Shooting Club.
Centre of
Excellence
Jebel Ali International Hotels developed the Centre of Excellence
in conjunction with My Group Direct. The concept was initiated by
two former England international footballers Viv Anderson MBE and
Tony Woodcock, who identified the need for a comprehensive warm
weather training facility in Dubai.
The Centre of Excellence contains a grassed
area under floodlights that accommodates two full-sized pitches.
These benefit from state-of-the-art technology such as
computer-controlled underground irrigation, fertilisation, drying
and aerating capabilities. Visiting teams and associations are
guaranteed maximum training time, as the playing surface is kept in
excellent condition without any disruptive maintenance downtime.
The Centre of Excellence also offers an impressive selection of
training equipment, treatment rooms and private changing
facilities.
In addition to catering for international
clubs, the Sports Academy also offers local schools programmes,
seasonal training courses and corporate leagues. The FA has also
recognised the exceptional learning environment for sport, business
and education. The Centre is one of the few facilities outside the
United Kingdom to be awarded Approved Centre status allowing the
Centre of Excellence to run Level One FA Learning courses.

Leadership
Centre
The Leadership Centre at the Jebel Ali International Centre
of Excellence provides a range of activities which will challenge,
motivate and inspire management and team development. Both
interactive and innovative, these outdoor challenges mirror real
situations experienced within a work environment and address the
practical aspects of communication, motivation, conflict
resolution, problem solving and decision making.
Umbro Football Training Academy
The Jebel Ali International Centre of Excellence is proud to re-open the 2nd term of the Umbro Football Academy on the 24th February which will run for 12 weeks. Dubai's leading football facility welcomes all aspiring football players from the age of 5 up to16yrs for the training course. Coached by ex-professional football players Mick Leonard and Chris Brown, youngsters are encouraged to maximize their talent and enjoy competing in inter-academy games. As the leading football facility in Dubai, the centre has played host to some top international football teams, from the UK Bolton Wanders, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham to the Ghanaian national team, to name but a few.
