Emiratisation
Jebel Ali International Hotels LLC is part of
the Dutco Group of Companies, Dubai, UAE. Established in 1947 by
Yousuf Baker, the company was re-constituted into a limited

late Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The company is owned
entirely by UAE Nationals and is committed to maintain the strong
Arabic roots and heritage of the UAE.
Jebel Ali
International Hotels ‘Al Bawaba’ Emiratisation
Programme
Emiratisation has been part of the company strategy since 2003
during which time it was decided to create a separate brand to
assist the company vision of sustainable long-term Emiratisation
throughout its operations. ‘Al Bawaba’ -
translating to the ‘Gateway’ - was chosen to
convey the message that Jebel Ali International Hotels not only
offers UAE Nationals employment, but also a hospitality industry
career gateway. At present, the company employs over 30 UAE
Nationals.
In particular the use of the brand
‘Al Bawaba’ graphically represents the way the
company sees its Emiratisation initiatives fan out on a sustainable
and systematic basis. This process is implemented through targeted
entry level positions for UAE nationals into each of its various
properties, gradually culminating in the aim to place UAE Nationals
strategically within hotel front and back of house departments. The
final objective of this initiative is to have UAE nationals
represented across all position grades within the properties over
the long-term.
